Beloved Actor Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
US actor Pat Finn, who appeared in popular programs such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA on Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, per news outlets.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Notable Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous popular shows, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was part of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared publicly.
The actor is survived by his spouse Donna, three children, and his family.
