Fast bowler Atkinson Adds to England's Injury Problems.
'Major setback' for the touring side as Atkinson goes off suffering a hamstring problem.
Gus Atkinson increased the injury concerns plaguing England when he left the playing area on the second morning of the fourth Ashes Test versus the Australians.
The right-arm seamer experienced discomfort in his hamstring post-delivery in his spell at the MCG.
Team management indicated Atkinson reported "discomfort" and required time on the sidelines for further assessment "over the next few hours".
The final Test of the tour at the SCG begins on Sunday, 4 January.
The visitors have previously lost key quicks one seamer with a knee problem and Jofra Archer with an abdominal strain on the current trip.
A replacement bowler was added to the party as injury reinforcement.
The seamer had a tough time in the opening two Tests, taking just three wickets.
He was omitted of the third Test, then recalled for the Melbourne Test in the playing XI.
Surrey's Atkinson improved at the MCG, taking two wickets during the host's first knock, before adding 28 with the bat being one of only three England players to reach double figures.
Post a single over late on the first day, he returned the next day and removed Scott Boland taken by the wicketkeeper.
Unfortunately, at the end of that over, he bowled a variation to Travis Head and promptly felt at his leg.
Gus Atkinson was brought back for the fourth Ashes Test following his omission the previous Test.
