The UK's top artificial intelligence institute has unveiled a major project to help protect the nation from digital threats targeting critical infrastructure including energy, transport and utilities.

The UK's premier AI research center will carry out a programme of science and innovation specifically created to protect the UK from adversarial risks, according to a Tuesday declaration.

This new direction follows organizational reforms at the state-funded body, including the stepping down of its former chief executive last month after both employee protests and government pressure for strategic overhaul.

Growing Cybersecurity Concerns

The latest project comes amid increasing worry about the UK's exposure to digital service failures and online threats.
